In Step 2, the background is blocked in, covering the entire surface of the paper. Now I can get a better sense of values and contrasts and begin to refine the animals. I'm not sure whether I like the hint of flowers or not in the background. I can always adjust it or scrub them out! I'll let it simmer over night!
