White Steed - Acrylic Painting

White horses carry a great significance in mythologies around the world. They pull the sun chariot, carry warrior-heroes, patron saints and the world’s savior. Pegasus, the winged horse, is white.
Other myths and tales tell of white horses that are divinatory, who prophesy or warn of danger; that triumph over negative forces. These magnificent steeds, whether visionary or metaphorical, are found in liturgical sources preserved in on-going traditions.

The Golden Horse - Acrylic Painting

Dr Silvia Hartmann wrote 'The Golden Horse' fairy tale... a tale of the terrible loss and heartache that occurs when the spirit world is lost because it is considered unimportant to our daily lives.
Here, good is triumphant in love and the splendors of the future. A story of true magic, it shows us we have the power to change the world and live lives filled with enchantment.
And from that beautiful golden wild horse came the unicorn... and after years of abuse they were reunited...
"the horse reared up and screamed... its screams turned into song... and as it reared and sang and danced, the unicorn leapt forward and it joined the dance and it too began to sing and as it did, their voices blended into one of beauty and of wisdom, and as they danced together... their forms began to blend and meld and then there was just one horse, golden and beautiful..."

Snug Harbor Farm Holiday Art Show opens today at 1pm, and runs through December 31. I will have 4 new miniature pastels of the mini Shetland ponies and a larger painting of Isabel on exhibit!
