Today was the first Pastel Painters of Maine paint-out for 2011. Unfortunately it was windy and I have a terrible cold. I went anyway - it's one of my favorite paint-out locations - and stayed to watch the horses for an hour and took some great photos. I've used my very basic horse knowledge to differentiate between them by coat color... and I hope I am correct!
Jesse is the center horse - a chestnut. I know the other horses names, however right now they escape me. Here is one of the pastel paintings I did using them as reference a couple of years ago:
